Sensational Trial Opens

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Aug: 18— Highly sensational details involving a set of wealthy high school boys and girls were promised by the prosecuting attorney today when Doctors J Hall And Babrian Pratt [sic—Fabrian, probably] went to trial on charges of causing the death of Meta Zook, 18-year-old daughter of a prominent businessman of Kansas City. The physicians have been at liberty on bonds of $2000 since their arrest. Two 18-year-old high school boys, George T. Vance, Jr., and Herbert Giker, appeared today as material witnesses for the state. The physicians were arrested August 15. Dr. Pratt said the Zook girl consulted him and then consulted Dr. Hall. Pratt is 23. Hall denied before the grand jurv that he had performed an operation on the girl. In the course of his investigation of the case the prosecutor declared he unearthed a deplorable state of affairs regarding the moral conditions existing in one of the Kansas City high schools.
